text pasting while typing on macbook pro
Hello, I just bought a new MacBook pro a couple of weeks ago. I haven't used a Macbook in 5 years, so everything is brand new to me. I definitely have not used macbooks with the digital display on the keyboard before (you know, that strip above the number keys and things will appear on it's own like emoji's or whatever). I noticed while typing in word, the digital display on my keyboard will light up with something and then word will paste in whatever is in my clipboard while I'm typing. It's almost like I'm hitting a key that calls this up, and then the next key I press it pastes text. It happens mid-stream while I'm typing fast, so I don't know what key's I'm hitting. I'm definitely not hitting command-V, I know enough about Macs to know that. Is there another key that will do this? In general I find the digital display on the keyboard distracting and extremely unhelpful, so if there is a way to disable that as well, i would be all over it. But I have to solve this mysterious text pasting thing, as it's slowing me down.
