Catalina Excel Permissions

I just purchased a new Mac Mini (Catalina). I transferred my old files and settings from my old Mini (Mojave) with time machine. Since Catalina won't run 32 bit programs I purchased the latest version of Excel (64 bit). My macros don't run correctly on the new Mini.

The Excel macro requires permission from Finder to open, read and copy data from other Excel files.

The problem has to be in permissions. So I checked Preferences/Security & Privacy/Automation.

In Mojave (old computer) it shows that Excel has access to Mail and Finder

In Catalina (new computer) it shows Excel only has access to Mail

I didn't see where I can make changes in the permissions in Preferences. I also looked in Excel preferences and I didn't see anything there either where I can make changes that would allow Excel to have Finder permission.

I know that this must be something simple to fix.

It might be automatically added to Files & Folders in Privacy tab of Security & Privacy System prefs. If there, make sure the box is checked.

If that doesn't work or it isn't there, try adding Excel to Full Disk Access.

The Automation section is for controlling those apps from Excel. The Files & Folders/Full Disk Access allows Excel to read files created by other programs.
