Bent iPad Air 3 2019

I have an iPad3 Air that has somehow warped in the middle, perfectly symmetrically and on one side only. It has been in a case its entire, short life (it's 13 months old), and well cared for. It has not been dropped. Indeed, the Apple senior advisor I spoke with this morning, who has seen these photos and more, made the point that there was no way that what's happened is through accidental damage. It looks like it has been deliberately bent, although it obviously hasn't, and how you would manage to bend one side and not the other is beyond me. I am booked to take it into Apple next week (deep joy, what with the pandemic and all). Just interested if anyone else has had this problem with their iPad? One of the photos shows the alternative side, which is still completely level, although the bend on the far side is immediately visible. Performance is, unsurprisingly, somewhat hit and miss.
