Is there a way to get the Find My app to always track location instead of just when the app is open? I noticed the setting only says “while using the app” while other apps like Google Maps it Accuweather allows you to always track even when the app is closed.

The app is not what tracks your location. The Find My service reports the device location regardless of the settings you used for the app. The app is only used to track the location of devices.
