'Convert to new sampler track' hangs in 10.5.1

As I have done many times using the ESX24 in previous Logic versions, I cut up an audio region into dozens of segments and went to 'Convert to new sampler track'. The beach ball starts spinning... and eventually I have to force quit.

Similar experiences or solutions anyone? Thank you.

Logic speeding up inserted audio So a few days ago whenever I would insert a track downloaded from the internet onto Logic everything was fine and the track would play its normal speed. Now whenever I insert a track, the track is extremely sped up, I have even tried opening new projects but nothing seems to help

EXS24 Sampler option missing Trying to pull up the EXS24 sampler to sample an audio clip, but it is just not there? When I go to the plug-in area and click on the drop down menu, I see every sampler except EXS24. Youtube videos show that it is supposed to be between the "EVOC 20" and "External Instruments" options, but there is no EXS24 on my list. I have a screenshot of what my drop-down menu looks like below. Any help is appreciated!!! The only things I have been able to find online are how to navigate towards and open EXS24, but the option just doesn't seem to exist on my software. Thanks in advance!

Replying to myself... well it seems that there was a lot of work going on in the background, taking much more time than I ever experienced in the past when making ESX24 sample banks. It took quite awhile but the beach ball stopped spinning and I got my sampler instrument.
