Messages

You can't, unless you also have an iPhone using the same Apple ID.

If you do, see below:

• On iPhone: If you do, make sure in Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding > Your mac should be listed here
• On Mac: Open Messages > Preferences... > Accounts > your phone number should be listed in Start a new conversations from

When you opened Mac's Messages app, click the Messages menu

Then select Preferences... > select the Accounts tab > you phone number should listed see my previous post.

Open Messages, then under the Messages menu, select Preferences from the drop down menu or do a command- , (comma).
