Connecting an Ethernet cable to an Macbook Pro (early 2015)

I have an Apple Macbook Pro that I need to connect an Ethernet cable to. As there is no Ethernet port I ordered a USB-C to Ethernet adapter. Unfortunately it does not fit as my MacBook has a Thunderbolt 2 (T2)port and everywhere that sells the adaptor only does Thunderbolt 3 (T3) I can buy T3 to T2 connectors at ease, but nobody does a T2 to T3 adaptor unless I look at spending silly money.

Oh how my colleagues laughed when I said I have a MacBook Pro.

Does anyone know of a solution to thi, or am I going to have to go back to Microsoft and buy a new lappie?

Cheers,

Mark.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

So a USB-C is also known as Thunderbolt 3, but I have Thunderbolt 2 ports ( I didn't realise as when i bought the adaptor it said 2015 onwards, but my laptop is 2015 (early)?

So I bought this;https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/product/HJKF2ZM/A/belkin-usb-c-to-gigabit-ethernet-adapter?fnode=9aae562073938a292495a6478868c25a1b30d306c47fdf5a0a9fa25f285b47b2c26041d75ff11fead744f849ce987ba0d63370d68e0a387499f5062457b19bcee195d02c23c9ad663bb33dcba7ceb1f25d379de7d86add73c1172765b9291b53b420cd7f6a7af99f6d4c023e718a6ebe

But I didn't realise my MacBook doesn't have USB-C, it has Thunderbolt 2 ports.

Cheers,
