strange functions while talking on phone after installing screen protector

after putting a tethys screen protector on my i Phone XR it goes crazy when using the phone. while talking, number beeps are heard, face time comes on in the middle of call, announcements, and other numbers are called in the middle of a conversation. What can I do? Do I need to remove the screen protector
