When I updated to MacOS 10.15.6 yesterday, all my contacts disappeared except 5. What happened? How do I get them back? I don’t use iCloud, I backup Using Time Machine using an external hard drive. But looking at my Time Machine backup, I don’t see any version of Contacts prior to yesterday.

Which email account do you have your contacts stored in?
Is "Contacts" turned on in the account settings for that account in System Preferences, Internet accounts?
Sign into each of your accounts including icloud in Safari or any browser and see if you can find any contacts
Not sure. I just entered them directly into Contacts over the years. I will have to check.
This worked. Apparently, some contacts were in my email account, others were in iCloud. Thanks.
