Transfer Photos from iPhone to MacBook Pro

I used AirDrop to move photos from my iPhone 11 Pro to my MacBook Pro. When I imported the photos the were in HEIC format. Question One: How do I change the format if the imported photos on my MacBook to jpeg or jpg format? Question 2: I read an older post that said I could set my iPhone to take photos in jpeg/jpg format. Is that still possible?

Answer to Question 1: You will need to use a file converter to convert HEIC to JPEG/JPG. A popular online file conversion service that does this is https://heictojpg.com/. Simply drag the images into the box and follow the prompts. You can then download those images.

Answer to Question 2: It is still possible to save images taken on your iPhone in JPG. To do this, open Settings, tap Camera and then Formats. Select 'Most Compatible' and future photos taken will be saved in JPG. Be aware that video at 4K 60fps and 1080p at 240fps requires HEIC.
