Trying to Manage Storage through System Info

I have a five year old MacBook Pro and I am trying to maximize efficiency by managing storage. I clicked the System Information App and have the menu on the left for iOS files, iTunes, Mail, Messages, etc. Unbeknownst to me, I have a ton of Podcasts downloaded through iTunes but when I go to click on them and delete them, nothing happens. Any ideas? Thanks.
