Photos import not recognizing selfy photos

It appears as the iMac application Photos refuses to recognize some of the images on my iPhone 7 when am trying to do an image import. It recognize most, but not all. There are these specific selfies I took today that I want to import into my iMac, but iPhoto won't list them as available images to be importated,

How could this be, what could possibly be causing this ?

iMac 21.5″, OS X 10.10
