2019 Macbook Air not recognising external displays (direct USC-C or adapter)

My late 2019 MacBook Air is unable to recognise any external displays as monitors. The laptop will charge through USB-C when plugged into a USB-C enabled monitor, peripherals can also be accessed through the standard USB ports. The MacBook will also not connect to Televisions or Monitors when used with a 3rd-party adapter. I have tried everything listed on the Apple Support pages and communicated with Apple through the support chat. This issue is extremely frustrating as I have bought the expensive USB-C Monitor to work form home with. The monitor recognises that the MacBook is plugged in as it will automatically change to the port that it is plugged into, although it then says that there is no signal (a different message to when nothing is plugged in).

Thanks, Joel

Thanks for responding to my cry for assistance! Unfortunately, I have already visited these pages and none of the suggestions worked. I feel that this may be a major issue that would need serious attention, I will have to book an appointment with Apple Genius Bar when I am allowed to! Thank you for your help, although, the case is still open for suggestions from others.
