I have tried everything to get rid of dropbox on my iMac but nothing seems to remove it

How do I get rid of Dropbox from my iMac. I have tried various suggestions but so far nothing has worked. Please help.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

what if you

  1. click on it on the top of your computer and get the menu and click the V beside your username in the upper right corner of the menu and choose quit
  2. go to finder and click applications and find dropbox and delete it there
  3. go to system preferences->users and verify nothing dropbox is under auto start
  4. go to finder and delete the dir dropbox synced with
  5. reboot mac

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts...
