OK to let fan at 2500 RPM all times ?

I have serious mac mini problem getting very hot (not just warm) even when doing nothing....

Got it to an Apple approved center. They tested it for 2 weeks and found nothing. Nevertheless,, I just can't imagine letting the machine getting so hot. None of all my other computers went so hot.

I purchased an app controlling the fan RPM. If I put it around 2500 RPM all times, temperature of the mini seems perfect (at work or at rest). If I let it to AUTOMATIC, it goes to around 1600 RMP but system is very hot.

Is it OK to let it all times at 2500 ?

+1 I second using MacFanControl. Instead of running the Fan at a constant 2500+ rpm, it is better to use the automatic Sensor-Based Control, so that the FAN Speed slowly ramps us as the Temp. increases.

I use the GPU PECI sensor on my Mac Mini.

Below 145F/63C the Fan runs at the default speed.

When the GPU PECI temp. increases above 145C/63C, the Fan slowly ramps up.

With Max temp. set way up at 190F/88C the fan speed is automatically controlled up and down when needed.

FWIW I also recommend completely uninstalling Intego and cutting back on some of those windows app's and services.

Uninstall the Intego anti-virus software by following the developer's instructions. AV software is not needed on a Mac and it usually causes more problems than it solves plus it impacts system performance. If this AV software is required by a school or employer, then you will need to work with them to resolve your issues.

You also have a lot of other third party apps/drivers installed with which I am unfamiliar so I don't know if one of them could be a problem. Perhaps another more knowledgeable contributor will be know.

I now confirm that use of Zoom, MS Teams, Skype, are among the worst apps that bring the mini to such a crazy temperature. Whenever I now use one of these, I run that fan app at max (4400 rpm). Yet need to figure out if use of the Logitech webcam is for something in there.

Those are all video-heavy apps. According to your EtreCheck report, you have three displays attached to that computer. The Mac mini doesn't have a discrete video card. Your heat and fans are likely being generated by the GPU.
