My iCloud password works when I log into iCloud.com, but it won't work when I try to sign in on the App Store. I changed to a different PW, and it works fine everywhere I need iCloud connection, except the App Store.
When I try to sign in to the app store, it sends a confirmation number to my phone, so it is trying to log in.

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
Does it work in the new account?
I updated and I'm still having the same result. How can I turn off 2FA?
My goal is to upgrade to Mojave - but I can't get signed in at the app store.
