Unlocking iphone to use for another carrier

I purchased a used iphone and it needs unlocked. I do not have the former carrier/account information, but know it was AT&T. How do i get it unlocked

Yes they will help you even if you are not an AT&T Customer. The one thing to watch out for and that is that if the previous owner owes money on the iPhone to AT&T then situations like that will prevent AT&T from unlocking that iPhone. You won't know until you call AT&T. Hope all goes well.

Good thing you know that is AT&T. Only a carrier can unlock an iPhone. It completely under the carrier's control. Please call AT&T and ask them what needs to be done to unlock that iPhone. They will need the iPhone's IMEI number and will provide you the guidance. Thanks.
