Updating photos

How do I force update in photos from my iPhone to my MacBook Air.

I use my phone for product photos, sometimes my Mac updates immediately and sometimes it takes a whole night.....

how do I force my iPhone to upload to iCloud, then have my photos downloaded to my Mac....

I can’t keep waiting on ICloud to update... anything would help.

Importing photos from iPhone to Mac Does anyone know why I am unable to import photos form my iphone to my Mac? When I connect my iPhone to Mac and go into photos to import it only shows a few old photos available to import and not any of my new photos on my phone. Could this be due to I changed the settings on my iPhone (iCloud for photos) a few months ago and now I have over 55,000 photos on my phone. All the photos from my Mac have now been imported to my phone. I want to delete this photos but then I am worried they will be deleted from iCloud as well. How can I get "Photos" on my iphone to update from icloud? I added some photos from my Mac to "Photos" but I cannot finding them on my iphone. Both phone and Mac sync to iCloud.

Iphone Photos uses ICloud but Mac Photos does not, what is the best option for easy transfer? My Iphone has Icloud Photos on with "Optimise Iphone Storage" enabled. Because of this (as I understand?) upon syncing Photos on Mac does not allow transferring over of Photos. From what I understand this option means the phone stores low-quality version of the photos and full version are on Icloud. My computer does not have icloud photos turned on. To allow transfer, would it be a simpler solution to enable icloud photos on my Macbook, or to disable icloud photos on phone? Would disabling icloud photos on my phone redownload the full photo files onto the phone? (or would deselecting "Optimise Iphone Storage" at least do this)? Would activating icloud photos on my computer mean the computer itself no longer stores my photos (so inaccessible without internet) , or would it simply have duplicates on the cloud? How would one access the iphone photos from the cloud once it's turned on? Sorry for the many questions, I'm confused about how icloud works and just want to make a separate physical backup of my photos. Thanks in advance for your help

You can share photos between iPhone and Mac using shared photo albums .
