vertical lines Macbookpro 16

hi. After 2 weeks from purchasing macbook pro16 inch, suddenly without any reason some vertical and horizontal lines appeared on the screen, which made me extremely sad. I took it to the store and the asked me to pay 850 USD to fix it ! Cummoon the laptop costed me 3,200 USD !!! Thats too much and it wasn't my fault at all. Anyone faced the same problem? After years of being so loyal to Apple, I now regret. For the first time I feel I hate Apple😭😭

Hi AmalApplePro16,

Thanks for posting! Sounds like you're having an issue with the display on your MacBook Pro, do we have that right? Have you tried the steps here: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac, they can help with some display issues you may have.

If there is any physical damage to your screen? Get support by phone or chat, set up a repair, or make a Genius Bar reservation for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and more by speaking to Apple Support. You can reach them here: Contact Apple Support.

Take care!

If you bought DIRECTLY from Apple, you have 14 days to return/exchange it for any reason (except in the Far East, where that policy may not be common). Did you tell them it was only days old?

Vertical artifacts on a display are likely to be problems in the display Hardware itself. Sometimes new owners have been offered the ability to enroll in AppleCare on-the-spot, and pay only the AppleCare cost (around US$350 in round numbers) plus US$100 deductible, rather than the full US$850 cost of repair on the spot.
