Connecting an Apple SuperDrive (aka DVD player) to a MacBook Air

I have a USB-C Multiport V2 adapter. But when I connect my Apple DVD player to the USB port I get a message on my screen saying "USB Accessory Needs Power Connect Apple USB SuperDrive to a USB port on this mac. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hello DCWrite,

We understand that you're experiencing some issues when attempting to connect your Apple USB SuperDrive via an adapter to your Mac. From what you've described the accessory needs additional power than what it is currently receiving. We have a page that may provide some solutions here: If a Mac accessory needs more power or is using too much power

We hope that this helps!

Take care.
