MacBook Pro Camera not working properly - colored horizontal lines

Regardless of the application (Facetime, Zoom, etc.) the camera on my MacBook Pro isn't working properly. Whenever I attempt to use it, the image that shows is mostly black in the background (although sometimes with an outline of what the camera is facing) with varying thicknesses of horizontal lines in shifting pixelated colors (green, blue, orange, pink) that move up and down the screen. I've ensured all the apps are authorized to use the camera, updated the system software, run a firmware diagnostic (no issues identified), and updated the SMC to no avail - the problem still remains. Any ideas on what is causing it/fixes would be appreciated.
