Why is my iPhone 7 suffering a Loss of ability to directly save photos from text to PHOTOS?

When I bought it in 2018, it worked fine. Now a marketed feature is removed. 🧐

Do you mean iMessage to Camera Roll?

When you tap an image and open it, do you see a share icon?
If you are unable to save it onto Photos app that means the image is not compatible for Photos app.
