Older iPad recommendations

Any recommendations for wifi only iPad, to be used for reading books, checking mail, light internet use? I enjoy my 6th generation tablet, want to give one, but having trouble finding one, so thought I'd consider other, older models. Thanks for any suggestions.

The oldest iPads that still support iPadOS 13 and the up and coming iPadOS 14 are the 2014, 9,7 inch screen iPad Air 2nd generation and the 2015, 7.9 inch screen iPad Mini 4th generation. Both of which are nearly 5 and 6-year old iPad models, now.

These oldest iPad models do not support any Apple Pencils.

The 2017, 9.7 inch screen, 5th gen iPad can run all of the current iOSes, but these models lack Apple Pencil support, too!

Then there is the 2018 6th gen 9.7 inch iPad, like yours, that DOES support the 1st gen Apple Pencil.

AND, there is the 2019, 7th gen, 10.2 inch screen iPad that supports the 1st gen Apple Pencil, too!

You should be able to find all of these models as refurbished/“renewed” units on sites, like Amazon.com.

Best of Luck to You!
