Do you know if target display mode will work with a late 2014 iMac as the target display and a 2020 iMac as the computer?

The article lists iMacs from mid 2014 and before to be used as displays in Target Display Mode. Do we know if or what the issues might be in using a late 2014 iMac as a Target Display? The article has not been updated so it lists using iMacs from 2019 or earlier as being able to be the primary computer. Would there be any difference for a 2020 Mac. or iMac?

Thanks

iMac with Retina 5K display, macOS 10.14

Yes, the late 2014 2014 iMacs will not work. Once the Retina models were introduced in late 2014, the ability to support Target Display Mode was removed. If you can find an old Thunderbolt Apple Display, it will work with the late 2014 iMacs. You can also use monitors that support video over Thunderbolt/USB-C or use various adapters to convert to HDMI etc.
