i have edited my pictures but I have issues with the Mail app. I have a corrupted mail app and have just been using Gmail. My email address was changed when we switched carriers and I have not been using it. So when I convert will they follow or can I do something to prevent it?

What has "edited my pictures" got to do with anything? Yes, when you change email providers, your email address changes. Emails from your old provider will not automatically follow you unless you do something to cause this. If you do not use Gmail to connect with your old provider's server, it will not connect to it and can not download any emails which reside there. If you do wish to have emails forwarded from the previous provider, it is usually possible by going to that provider's web site and setting up email forwarding to your new email address.
