I have a Smart Folder with the following search criteria:
The first criterion setting the "Document Container" isn't working; the Smart Folder still populates with files I've explicitly set it to exclude. The rest of the criteria seems to work fine.
Am I doing something wrong?
Document Container is not a folder path.
There is no way to specify a file system location in the search criteria.
The search location can only be set by selecting one of the Search: options.
I have no idea. It is metadata, not file system data.
It's not listed here, but that is an Archive. I can't find a current document except for the CoreSpotlight Searchable Attribute Set
While the names are not exact matches, I assume the section "Describing Containment" refers to the kMDItemDocumentContainer metadata attribute. If you look at the "Container Display Name" you'll see that it doesn't refer to a file system container,
For example, a container display name might be the title of a series of books. When you specify the containment properties, Spotlight can treat individual items as part of an ordered set.

The description of Document Container is "Containing folder of an item." If that criteria can't be specified as a folder, then what is it for?
