I've noticed that My Photo Stream on my Mac doesn't update unless I disable and re-enable My Photo Stream in Preferences. This occurs every time I start Photos on my Mac. Is there any way to fix this?

Do you have iCloud Photos enabled on the affected device? If so, this would be expected behavior as My Photo Stream will not sync data to devices that have iCloud Photos enabled. Alternatively, you may choose to enable iCloud Photos on your devices, or you may choose to use only My Photo Stream on the affected device. Also, please know that My Photo Stream will not sync live photos.

This has been a problem on multiple Macs for me over time. I'm running Catalina on my Mac Mini, which originally had Mojave on it when I bought it last year. It resumes when I disable and re-enable My Photo Stream in preferences. But it doesn't last. A few days later, it will be out of sync again.
