Apple Store gift cards received by email.

Have tried multiple sources to no avail: How can I purchase something online from apple.com using an Apple Store (NOT app store) gift card sent to me via email (i.e. does not have a "back" containing a phone # to call).

I have spent much greater value of my time & patience trying to redeem these, where no one has a definitive answer, such that loyalty to Apple is wearing thin from their interlocking repetitive names (apple pay, apple card, apple store, app store, app gift card, apple store gift card, apple wallet; it's like an elementary school work sheet--which of these things belong together and which are different?).

Thank you for the suggestion, but I'd already tried that, among many other hopeful-looking connections. Nothing has worked so far; phone calls to card issuer, multiple Apple advisors/sales-reps; internet searches, etc. I see you are on iPad; I'm not. So extremely frustrating that cross-devices of apps with desktop iMac hasn't yet arrived. I did see a connection to enter card# + PIN which produced a spinning circle purportedly adding directly to Apple, but increased value never showed up for real.

Thank you for the snap-back, Allan Jones. As you can see, I'm Level 1; my frustration at trying to figure stuff out on my own (as well as with the paid help-agents) eventually makes me a little testy. Sometimes I need to vent, although I truly appreciate these resources from end-users. I did appreciate Skydiver's suggestion, but as there appears to be a largish confused group asking variations of this question, I wanted to clarify for non-mobile users that many great apps (such as Skydiver's suggested Apple Pay) are currently unusable for desktop access.
