Hey I was traveling so I put my iPad in a duffle bag with my clothes and the screen shattered. Half of the screen is covered by hairline cracks and there is a point of impact which seems impossible because nothing hard was in the bag. Do they consider this accidental damage because I’m going to complain about this issue as I don’t want anyone else to go through a 500$ repair almost the full cost of the iPad itself.

If you have apple care plus, accidental is accidental. It’s not like you deliberately broke it.

I’ve not used it but I would imagine if you pay the service fee you should be able to get it replaced.

Yes, this is accidental damage and it will NOT be covered under warranty. iPad screens simply don't shatter without an impact.
