The SIM tray is located at the lower-right edge of iPad7 - as viewed with the physical Home Button at the bottom of the screen.

This Apple support page identifies the location of the SIM tray for most Cellular models of iPad and iPad Pro. WiFi Only models of iPad do not have either a physical SiM tray or embedded AppleSIM/eSIM.
