Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

garageband,keynote,pages exc. won't update because it says "purchased with another Apple ID"

I get a prompt to update these 4 apps. They will not update because it says "these apps were purchased with another Apple ID. This machine is brand new, and I've only ever had this Apple ID. any suggestions?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 10.15

If the applications that need updating are Apple applications that came with the computer, try going to the App Store Purchases tab or click on your profile and then go to Purchases to see if there is an option to accept the applications with your Apple ID. If that doesn't work, you can delete the applications and download them with your Apple ID. The applications are free. You may have to sign out of the App Store, restart the computer, and sign back in to download new copies.

Make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service after the stores re-open. If you need to find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple. Also, see How to find your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Distributor (AAD). You may also get Apple authorized service at a local Best Buy or contact Apple Support for more options.

  2. If you just purchased the product, then you get 90 days of free telephone support from the date of purchase of your Apple device.
