Mojave now cannot establish a secure connection

Mac Mini 7,1 Intel Core i5 2.6 GHz

Mojave 10.14.6

AirPort Extreme v. 7.9.1

I recently restarted after an automatic system update, and since then I apparently can not establish secure connections to internet servers. Cannot connect to email

accounts through Mail, cannot connect to pages using Safari, and iCloud and Dropbox folders are not connecting or syncing. I cannot even connect to the Apple Server to upgrade to Catalina. But I am connecting to WiFi and my Mac can see the internet Though intermittently (per AirPort Utility). Other devices are connecting to the WiFi and to internet servers.

Following a suggestion in another thread from 1 year ago, I renamed my local network SSID. I unplugged and re-plugged the AirPort Extreme. I restarted my Mac, which apparently is not connecting to the update server, because it thinks each startup is the first after a system update.

Suggestions?

Please see If your Mac doesn't connect to the Internet over Wi-Fi - Apple Support.

Also a quick test, if you have same issue in another user / guest user.

Test with another user account.

Next to check in safe mode.

Note: Safe mode prevents your Mac from loading certain software as it starts up, including login items, system extensions not required by macOS, and fonts not installed by macOS. It also does a basic check of your startup disk, similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility. And it deletes some system caches, including font caches and the kernel cache, which are automatically created again as needed.
