Downloading Full Resolution Images to Photos - Emails with compressed attachments

Both iPhone and Apple mail say "Downloading Full Resolution Images to Photos" for an email that had jpeg's attached as "Actual size".

I'm sending jpeg files (approximately 3.5MB each, and "actual size" pull down is selected on my desktop machine when sending. Then I receive significantly reduced sized jpegs on my phone (around 100kb). On the email browser on the phone there is a message that says "Downloading Full Resolution Images to Photos Available until..date...." ,but there is nothing that tells how to download them. How do you do this?

I've seen others post it, but no accurate answers. Anyone?

Hey alexdobi,

We understand you're looking for more details on downloading attachments within the Mail app. With attachments, if these don't automatically download, you may need to tap on the attachment. The following guide has more details on working with attachments, specifically "Preview an attachment" and "Save a photo or video attachment to Photos" here: Work with email attachments on iPhone

We also thought our Mac guide on attachments could be helpful too. Check it out here: View, save, or delete email attachments in Mail on Mac

Have a great day!
