I have a 2013 MacBook Air when opened today the key board and track pad stopped working. The lights around the keys and the power button works. I have an external keyboard and mouse to use the computer now but would like to know what caused this??

This article is for a wireless keyboard and mouse. The issue I have is with my laptop Mac air. Any suggestions?
Perfect, I pressed and held the power button for 10 sec, then pressed it once to do a hard reset. The track pad and key board now work. Thanks for the suggestion.
