My photos have been deleted from my iPhone but did not all import in iPhoto

I was importing pictures in iPhoto from my iPhone. I clicked on "Import All New Photo" and i checked the option "Delete after import".

When i look in iPhoto, i clearly see that not all photos have been imported BUT they have been deleted from my iPhone.

How can i retrieve all my photos?

(there were about 2800+ photos to import but only 2000ish transfered so i am missing around 800 photos that i cannot find anywhere)

Hello Opujhum,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. It sounds as though you were importing photos from your iPhone to your computer or Mac. Are you using iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone or do you have a recent backup of your iPhone? If so, you may have some options to recover.

First, look in album Recently Deleted in Photos app > Albums > Recently Deleted to see if the photos are showing there. You can review information about the Recently Deleted album in article, Delete photos on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch section: Get your photos back.

If you're not using iCloud for Photos, it's possible your photos could be contained in a backup. To check your last iCloud backup date, go to Settings > Your Name > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups > Last Backup. If you need to review backups created on a computer or Mac, check out article, Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch for details. If you have a backup available for the dates the photos would have been stored on your iPhone, you may be able to recover your photos by restoring your backup. Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

We hope this information is helpful.

Best wishes.

Hello Opujhum,

Thanks for providing the additional details regarding the process you like to use for your data and photos. If the photos aren't showing on your MacBook, and have been deleted from your iPhone, without having a backup to fall back on, there won't be a way to recover the missing pictures.

To ensure that you have a safeguard in place, we recommend creating a backup to either your MacBook or iCloud. You can read more about backup options in article: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

If you'd like more information on utilizing the iCloud feature, not only to store your photos but also sync them automatically to your MacBook, check out Set up and use iCloud Photos.

Best regards.

Hi,

I was transfering photos from the iPhone to the Macbook.

The iPhone doesn't use any of the iCloud service or any Syncing settings (i turned everything off so that i can have manual control) I only use the Photo App on the iPhone.

On the Macbook, i use the Photo app as well. I did Import All Photos and checked the box "Delete after import"

When the Import was over, it deleted all photos from the iPhone but i ended up not having all my photos in the the folder i selected for the import.

I hope this describe a little better what happend.
