To all the other users having the same problem: The quickest way to fix it is to turn on speaker phone then turn it off. It always fixes it for me. I'm not sure but it's either the coding of the Algorithm of the noise cancellation mic or some acoustic feedback due to the fact that the ear piece is really close to the noise cancellation mic.

Every time I call someone, they say that they "echo." Every single time, and they all use different phones. I have a brand new iPhone 4, and I'm not sure if there is a way to fix this.

Echoes do happen but you have to realize, the question is if there is an issue the phone itself. I too have an iPhone 4 and the echoes happen more frequent than a once in a blue moon echo using other phones. If you check with other people, they are having the same problems.

I have the same problem.
In my case... all my callers always get their own talk echoed.
The "fix" with "Speaker on/off" works for me too.
Kinda makes my phone useless!
4.1 Version does not help.

I knw its weird but removing the bumper solved this issue ...!
Same problem here all callers from any network and any phone can hear themselves back. Changed out phone at apple store still same problem. Going to go and change it again till I get one that works. Paid good money for the phone and otherwise it is a brilliant phone.
I HAVE THE SAME ECHO PROBLEM. DOES ANYONE HAVE A SOLUTION OTHER THAN TO EXCHANGE THE PHONE?
UGH, THE IPHONE 4 IS SO MUCH WORSE THAN THE 3GS.

I've waited 3 weeks then my phone finally came back to the shop. Apple swapped my iPhone 4 with a new one. Echoes obviously disappeared.
Sorry for all of you having the same issue, seems hardware, no other solution than swap the phone.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

Again, I have the same problem. I did not have this problem ever with Alltel and my Motorola phone. DC
My issue is similar, sort of.
The problem I experience is not that the person on the other end is hearing an echo, rather, I hear my own voice echo when I speak. It is an intermittent problem and doesn't happen on every call.

I had an iPhone 4 which gave me no problems at all. This got stolen and I got a replacement. New one has been echoing on most calls - I cant hear anything but people keep on at me about it. Going to try and get a replacement.
I just bought a new iphone 4. I have the same problem and i have 4.1 iOS version.
For anyone, did 4.2 version iOS solve this problem?

I had the same problem. Apple exchanged my phone with a brand new Iphone 4 and it does the SAME THING right out of the box.
