My Iphone is not connecting to my MacAir

I am trying to connect to my macAir and It won't even charging once i plug USB to my phone it just keeps beeping

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.13

Connect iPhone to Mac

Use your USB lightening cable --> Resolve USB-related alerts in iTunes - Apple Support

If unable to connect --> If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support
