Purple and Green screen

My macbook pro (2012) screen has turned green and purple creating a weird glair. I have shut down multiple times checked display settings inverted colours are not on . If i go onto a website with a black background you can see the apple logo . i have switched backgrounds from bright to dark and nothing has changed . Certain corners of the macbook are black but if i put a folder on them it would still appear and its slowly getting worse . I believe it is water clogged and has fried the display , i am writing this to see if i can fix it at home through settings or i have to go to the apple store.

If this is due to water damage it would likely have to be repaired by an Apple Authorized Service Center. Changing settings will not get rid of water damage.
