In Apple News+, how can I deleted the “hardwired” topic “Racial Justice” that now Apple has inserted in my “Following Topics” at the top of the list of “Following”?

you're not addressing the problem.
Apple News hardwired the Following categories at the top & does not let you edit them. this is offensive as it makes Apple the political curator to what it believes i should learn about.
yes, you can add or subtract other topics but Apple restricts you from editing the topics they choose to push on to their subscribers.

Unfollow a news channel or topic

next to a channel or topic and tap Unfollow.You are correct. These news feed categories cannot be changed and the black color of that icon cannot be changed. Best option is to go Android if you want such freedoms.
