How can I get rid of yellow highlight on text pasted into Pages 10?

I have seen other posts with replies but the formatting box for text that they reference isn't available anywhere within pages that I can find. I found the Authors Note thing but there is only the option to change the color, not remove it. Is there no way to remove it? Checking before moving my document to Google Docs to edit.

In the Pages User Guide for Mac - Apple Support, select the Table of Contents link at the top of the page, then expand the Format Text section by clicking the disclosure marker, and select Add aa highlight effect to text.


You'll find "Remove" instructions for both these types of text highlighting on the resulting page:
