iPhone 11 Earphone Mic is not working

Hi,

I have an iPhone 11 a couple of months. It's runnin on iOS 13.6.

I just find out that my ear phone mic is not working. People on the other hand are not able to hear my voice properly. They always complain that I am speaking from far they can hear my voice with low volume. I tried different headsets, earpod, the original headset and other headsets. All this headsets work on an other Iphone.

To ruleout this I did a small test, while I am on ear phones itself I brought my phone close to my mouth then they can hear me that means my voice is reaching them from the handset mic.

I read that several people with an iPhone 11 has the same problem. Looks like it's the IOS issue.

If your microphone doesn't work

Make sure that your headphones have a built-in microphone. Check your microphone for blockage, like debris, lint, or plastic packaging. To see if you need a replacement, try a second pair of headphones.

If your headphones don't work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod ...

Thanks for the response.

Normally I use the original headset which came with the Iphone. I have the same problem with a headset from another supplier. I cleaned the connector. But even with my earpods the microphone doesn't work and that's on bluetooth.

I tried the workaround as described below and that works:

I too have this problem with the 11 pro max and so does my wife with her the 11 pro we found that if you unplug the headphones and plug them back in it fixes it but you have to do it every time

It's a known issue and I hope Apple will fix this ASAP
