Switch input on iPad / iOS

I can't find the setting to switch the input back to the iPad when I use my AirPods to monitor the input. Certainly that exists?

How do I monitor my project and record guitar using the iPad mic, and AirPods to hear what I'm playing to?

iPad Pro, iPadOS 13

iPad “Pro” actually. I hope Apple rethinks this. I happily bought the iPad to complete my Apple ecosystem thinking I could count on such a simple thing. As much as I favor Apples products - hardware and software - I can’t help but wonder what nefarious motivations are behind such a strange exclusion.

You've fought hard to earn the “answered” badge, so congratulations, but know that I was not impressed with being told not to expect standard capabilities in a DAW application!

No it does not.

You would need to invest in the appropriate Apple adapter and an iOS device/iOS/iPadOS compatible external audio interface device to accomplish this.

Search the online Apple Store and places, like Amazon, for the iOS external audio equipment you need.

Amazon has the device solutions you need/require.

iPads are NOT full laptop or desktop computers and for the foreeable future, won't be.

iPads are general purpose portable devices and, as such, cannot provided for every possible types of usage.

If you want to see what is needed to record music and other audio on an iPad, I suggest you search YouTube videos.

Lots of these type videos that will show you want is needed to do typical types of multitrack audio recording with an iPad.

It is what it is.

I am just a user here, just like you.

I am sorry that these facts aren't what you want to find out.

I own an older iPad Pro and do a lot of creative, artistic endeavours with my iPad.

Music, being one of them, as well, and had to purchase some expensive external gear to record outside audio and do overdubbing through my iPad using a variety of different audio recording apps and specialised software sound modules

It's the way it is.

The iPad is NOT a fully dedicated/integrated recording studio.

External hardware is needed. Just like with any other type of audio recording methods.

Also, you never awarded me any points for my help.

You marked your own post reply as solved.
