Can't pair watch series 2 to iPhone 5s, "phone is out of date" :(

Is there a work around to allow my perfectly running series 2 watch to pair with my perfectly running iPhone 5s ? I really do not have spare money to go out and buy new hardware when what I have is working fine and cost me dearly when I purchased them. Please tell me Apple is not updating my devices into obsolescence !!! Any help would be welcome.

Apple watch won't pair with old iPhone I have an Apple Watch Series 3 and an iPhone 6, both hand-me-down. I have already erased the watch and the phone is updated to the latest version, 12.5.6. When I try to pair the two devices, a pop-up comes up saying the watch can't be paired because the phone is not updated, even though it is on the latest version of iOS it can run. I know the iPhone 6 can only run iOS 12 and not the latest iOS 16, but I would think that there'd be a way for Apple Watches to pair with older iPhones. This is what the pop-up and update screen looks like. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me find a solution. Thanks.

Apple Watch Series 2 - iPhone 5S Just purchased a mint condition, unpaired Apple Watch Series 2. Everything I read online said it would work with my older (still nice!) iPhone 5S. However, it will not pair! Watch OS 6 will not allow it to pair to a 5S iPhone. These devices should work together. That's the whole point of buying multiple devices in this ecosystem. What can I do? What are my options?

If your watch is running os6 it can't be paired to a watch running iOS 12 which is what your phone is limited to.
