Music (iTunes) on Macbook (up to date) doesn't see iPhone

My Music version is 1.0.6.10

I have a Macbook (not pro)

Catalina 10.15.6

iPhone 7 on iOS 13.6.1

iPhone XR on iOS 13.6.1

Under System Information, it sees the iPhone

This MacBook only has a USB-C, I have tried a USB-C to Lightening Cable AND I have the Apple USB Hub that I use daily for the monitor adaptor and the USB port.

I had Norton, totally uninstalled it

I had ExpressVPN, uninstalled it too (I saw articles on security software)

Nothing - I open Music and no iPhone. I plug them into iTunes on Windows and they work ok.

I tried the resetting location and privacy. On the PC, I got a message to trust this device. Did it again, but don't get that message on my MacBook.

This is a critical issue. I keep my backing tracks on my old iPhone 7 and I can't contact to Music to transfer music.

Any further ideas or suggestions would be most appreciated!

MacBook, macOS 10.15
