Trade in IPhone

Hi! I would like to trade in my iPhone for a latest model. I've visited store on 58th Ave in NY and was told that I am supposed to purchase iCloud storage, tranfer all information there, erase everything from my old phone and only then new phone will be setup. I learned from other people that they just bring an old phone to the store and the rest is done by your staff. Why am I denied the same level of service and have to do something I don't know and spend additional money?

  1. This is not Apple support. This is a user to user forum. It is not our staff.
  2. Not sure who told you you needed to buy iCloud storage, but that is wrong.
  3. There is no Apple Store on 58th Ave.
  4. You can backup to iTunes or not backup at all.
  5. If you go to an actual Apple Store, you can just trade it in. Make sure its been backed up and wiped before you trade it on however.
