As you said, it's a MacBook Air (11-inch, Late 2010).
I see you're running macOS El Capitan 10.11, which wasn't updated in two years. Since Safari can only be updated along with macOS, this implies your Safari version is also outdated by two years. From a security viewpoint it's bad to browse the Internet with a browser that old, it makes the computer vulnerable.
According to macOS High Sierra - Technical Specifications, your MacBook can be updated to macOS High Sierra 10.13, which is an older, but still maintained version. This is the only method of updating Safari.
