how to save faster?

I looked on different sites and couldn't find anything.

I use FCPX for editing.

i used a macbook pro - i7 - 16gb ram - 560 - 4gb video

to save a 1 hour video in 4k it took 1 hour in h264.

Now i use an imac pro - i9 - 64gb ram - 580 - 8gb video

I still take 1 hour to save the same video.

the difference is that with the macbook used 80% of the processing now uses 5%.

How can i make imac pro decrease this time? how do I increase processing from 5% to 80%?

tks

I don't think you can change how FCP exports.

(FWIW, I believe that most of the export work for h264 is done by the T2 chip, and that is why you see little CPU use)

If you have Compressor, that will offer a lot more choices. You may create your own share settings, and use them directly from FCP, or sending from FCP to Compressor to export.

Or you may export a master ProRes version, and then use HandBrake to make an H264 file from it.

I expect that will be faster, and also offer a lot more options than the default FCP ones.
