Battery draining super fast

I update my iPad Pro yesterday to 13.6.1 and now my battery is draining extremely fast. Left it to go to dinner last night at about 59%. Came home a couple hours later it was bone dry. Plugged it in and once it had enough to power on I checked battery usage. Mail and norton security were using obscene amounts of power. I’ve had Norton security on my iPad for several months, never an issue. Do an update, now it’s a problem??? Today it was at 100% at 6 AM, now at 12:30 it’s at 2%.

Get rid of the Norton security app and anything else on that iPad Norton related.

It is not needed on either macOS nor iOS/iPadOS.

Apple macOS and iOS/iPadOS are NOT Windows!

iOS/iPadOS is a “sandboxed” locked, “walled garden” mobile OS.

There are no threats to common adware, malware or viruses, like with Google Android, MS Windows and on MS Surface tablets!

You do not need any anti-virus or special “security” software running on iOS/iPadOS or macOS, for that matter!

Get rid of it and if it is a subscription model, end the Norton subscription, as well.

Norton ANYTHING is NOT needed.

Apple’s chat help is do full of it. They tell me my iPad battery is at 87% and that’s why I’m experiencing issues. Bull! It didn’t get to 87% overnight, but my issues appeared overnight, and right after the latest update. Plus, I have an iPhone 11 and my wife an iPhone 8 she also has iPad (air I think). All of these devices have experienced excessive drain since update. On my iPad the big culprit showing for battery usage was my Norton VPN app. I deleted that app, and guess what! Another app just magically takes its place as the battery hog. Same on my iPhone 11, but worse on that, the Norton app not only hogged battery, but data. I use xfinity phone and pay $17 per month for 2 phones sharing 1GB of data. Needless to say, we blew past the 1 GB this month.

Currently the battery hog app on both my iPhone 11 and iPad Pro is Mail. Using hours of background battery when devices are at rest. iPhone has push off and mail checking is manual. iPad Pro has push on and checking at auto. Background app refresh is off on both. Before mail took over as the battery hog it was Siri. Turned that ***** off on both devices.

Apple’s latest update 13.6.1 has totally screwed up my devices!!! It’s been over a week now since updating.

I did delete the Norton app for now. I don't think that's the problem because then Siri took the high spot in the battery usage chart and the battery is still draining fast. Besides, it was perfectly fine for months with the Norton app on it - I got it since it's free with my Comcast internet and it has the VPN and web security features which are nice since I travel some with that iPad and use other's WiFi. Something happened with the latest update to 10.6.1 on Friday to cause this battery drain issue. The iPad may even be turning on by itself. I haven't checked it yet this morning, but last eve I'm pretty sure I turned it off by pressing the top button and then sliding the slider on the screen before I put it down and left to go sit on patio with neighbors for an hour or so. Came back home and my iPad was on when I picked it up. So I turned it off again when I was done and I'll see if it's still that way when I get done here on the Mac.
