Broken 6S Plus

My wife dropped her 6S Plus today and nothing is broken but the touch screen doesn't work. There are vertical lines in the screens resolution. The side buttons work, the home button works and Siri works. Just not the touch screen.

Here's the question. With the 6 series phones 5 years old or so, do you think it's worth sending it into Apple for repair? Or consider a 7 or 8 series? I'm wonder how long it'll be before Apple doesn't do updates on 6 series phones.

If it costs us say $100 to repair the 6 and a 7 is $250 and an 8 is $300, then we save $150 to $200. But if updates and fixes are going away soon, then.................

Then again, I really won't know how much it'll cost to fix until I call Apple.

Just looking for thoughts from the community.

Thanks,

-Ron
