iPad mini 5 sudden volume increases

Hi, just received an iPad mini 5 yesterday and a Snugg Bluetooth keyboard case to fit it. The 2 work great but I’m having one problem that’s causing me a headache (literally)! Sometimes while I’m using the iPad the volume suddenly goes really loud. My hands are nowhere near the volume buttons, I’ve tried using iPad in various orientations, assistive touch is not switched on. I’ve now taken it out of its case and this doesn’t seem to be happening so looks like I will have to contact Snugg, but can anyone suggest anything in the meantime? Thanks in advance.

Hey Infonutz,

Thanks for joining us at the Apple Support Communities. After reviewing your post, it appears that the volume on your iPad mini will automatically start increasing by itself when you use a specific case with your iPad mini. We're happy to help.

The steps in the article might help below:

Restart your iPad

Let's test this by removing the Bluetooth device as well. Settings > Bluetooth > MY DEVICES tap the (i) and remove the keyboard. Restart your iPad and test to see if the volume changes on its own.

Take care!

Hi, Thanks for that. I removed it from the case and the problem went away. It seems it’s that case. I swapped it with my friend who bought a different colour Snugg case and her case doesn’t do it. She had the same problem when she put her iPad in my case so it is definitely the case! Apparently the space given to the volume buttons on mine isn’t quite long enough. Some things are in different places between the two keyboards too which is odd. Definitely time to contact Snugg I think.
